Dear Diary,

It’s my 11th birthday and my parents gave me the best present ever! As of right now, I am officially making my first diary post on the Wiznet with my first laptop! Super excited. I’ve been asking for one ever since I was a little kid. Of course, not like the great Bill and Fleur Weasley had the money to give laptops to both daughters back then. They always give Victoire the best stuff… probably because she’s older and beautiful and perfect. But whatever. I can’t let that bring me down now. Because I finally have something that’s my own, NOT secondhand! So excited for the world that’s gonna open up now that I have the power of the internet >:) Look, it’s an “emoticon”! So cool.

Dear Diary,

So, my first year at Hogwarts is coming to an end. Merlin, do I have so much to say. First off, let me just say that I was sorted into Gryffindor! Of course, that was a no brainer because I am literally everything a Gryffindor stands for. Brave, loyal, generous. I’ve made a few really good friends in my house. But there are a few older years that call me Lil Vic and I HATE that. My name is Dominique, dumb slugs. At least I can owl Louis. And at school, I have literally anyone who’s a Potter or a Weasley. I think that’s probably been one of the funner things about going to Hogwarts. I get to see my cousins all the time. Which is a lot more than…well all the time. But now, it’s without parents, so I finally feel free.

My favorite subject so far is lunch. Haha, just kidding. I’ve actually really enjoyed Charms and DADA. I feel like a badass whenever I get a new spell down. Also, these robes are absolutely atrocious and they’re so difficult to fly in. I mean, c’mon! It’s been decades and we’re still wearing the same design robes that our parents wore? Welcome to the 21st century, Hogwarts. Maybe one day, I’ll have to talk some sense into our Headmaster.

That’s all for now. Til tomorrow!

Dear Diary,

I am absolutely heartbroken. So I asked Jeremy Lewin to the Yule Ball and he said yes! Which is awesome because I’ve had a crush on him since third year and he hasn’t picked up on like ANY of my flirting. Maybe it’s because he plays for the Slytherin Quidditch team or maybe I don’t really have as much control over my half-Veela powers yet. Honestly though, there have been guys but they’re not Jeremy Lewin. Anyway, so we go to the Yule Ball. I’m wearing this beautiful blue snow gown that I charmed to have extend its subtle sparkles on my skin. We’re having such a great night and I’m literally glowing with joy.

Then the night ends and everyone’s leaving to do their own thing. That’s when Jeremy tries to get me to sneak to the Astronomy Tower with him to snog! We’ve literally only had one date. He barely even acknowledged me until this year. And now he wants to run off and snog? Gross. So I tell him no and he gets so pissed off. He starts going off on how I should be grateful that he even gave me the time of day.

So you know what I did? I took these beautiful drapes just outside the Great Hall and oppugno’d them right at Jeremy. He was so lost in those drapes, he looked like a rotten burrito when I finally stopped. The Head Boy and Girl caught us and we both ended up getting detention. It was totally worth it. But I still felt terrible about what Jeremy said. I spent the next few days crying to my roommates and cousins, wishing that I wasn’t so eager to be with him. I can’t ever let myself be that stupid again. It’s not good for my skin.

I know I am more independent and self-sufficient than this.

To the Eastwick Headmaster or whomever it may concern,

Hello! My name Is Dominique Fleur Weasley. I graduated Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year and will be enrolling in Eastwick University starting this fall. While I was registering for classes, I noticed that you do not have any classes or programs dedicated to fashion design. Now, last I heard, Eastwick is one of the most prestigious and progressive wizarding universities to date. It’s almost absurd to hear that Eastwick has not extended its repertoire to more artsy majors. Occupations in the world of liberal arts, performance arts, and visual arts are starting to gain momentum and profitability. And fashion design is right up that alley.

As of right now, I am signing up to double major in Charms and Spell Creation. However, I am confident that Eastwick will reform by adding majors focused on the arts rather than constantly producing Aurors and Ministry workers like a factory. I am more than thrilled to join your ranks and to someday be an Eastwick alumnus that will change the world starting with what knowledge this school has to offer.

Thank you for your time!

Dominique Weasley

Blog Post #42: Change

It’s been two years at Eastwick and I’m still double majoring in Charms and Spell Creation. Back before I started university, I sent a letter to Eastwick requesting to have more arts classes added to their curriculum. They proceeded to respond with a terse letter—something about how it’s not really something their students have ever complained about and how they need to budget their funds appropriately. Blah, blah, blah. But I also don’t want to drop out of Eastwick and deny myself some kind of education. Right now, I’m working to figure out how I can integrate Charms and Spell Creation to fashion design. I don’t have anything quite yet, but I know I’ll figure it out somehow.

On another note, I keep getting letters from my professors about career prep. It feels way too early about it, but apparently the last two years are going to happen pretty quickly. Nothing really stands out to me too much except maybe Curse Breaker? Sounds like a pretty badass job to do. But nothing’s set in stone, as it always is with me.

Blog Post #79: Breakthrough

I’ve figured it out. I literally spent four years at Eastwick and then another year as a Curse-Breaker at Gringotts before I figured it out. I am going to use what I learned in Charms and Spell Creation to figure out how to charm certain types of clothing. Kind of like the Invisibility Cloak that Uncle Harry had, but something that’s accessible and can be used by all different types of people! Once I figured this out, all the ideas came into my head. Clothes that can absorb dueling spells and redistribute the energy. Bags that are already charmed to hold an entire closet’s worth of things; thank you Aunt Hermione for that idea. Pants and long-sleeves that seamlessly hide your wand, so that you never get stuck in the ankle by your wand or have to dig through countless trench coat pockets looking for it ever again. Maybe I can even finally renovate those dusty robes at Hogwarts. And that’s not all! I just have to stop because I don’t wanna give away too much. I’m venting to you guys but I can’t give away too much before I’m ready to get started.

I applied to London’s School of Wizarding Design last week and I’m waiting for their answer. They said it’ll take up to a month for them to say anything and there might even be an interview involved. I’m so excited for this part of my life because I finally feel like I’m doing what I want to do. It feels like a weight off my shoulders!

Expressions by Dominique

Hello everyone! My name is Dominique Weasley and you are witnessing my very first post for my fashion blog! This is my blog for those of you that live far away and can’t visit my boutique in the heart of London. For those of you that do live in London and just want to keep up with me on a weekly basis, this a great place to come find me too! Every week, I’m basically sharing upcoming styles that I’m working to release for the wizarding world to experience. From practical sunglasses that can help you in a duel or those cute boots that change color to match your outfit, I am dedicating myself to thinking of it all!

Just a little bit more about me. I actually graduate from Eastwick University with a double major of Charms and Spell Creation. This landed me into a job at Gringotts as a Curse Breaker, aka my father’s job, as some of you may know. It was an interesting job and I’m glad I got to put my Charms skills to the test. But it wasn’t the job that I would fall in love with. So, I enrolled in London’s School of Wizarding Design to learn more about how to integrate magic into clothing. After two years there, I graduated again and started my own boutique! It has been going well for about 6 months now, and I am expanding its availability through the use of Wiznet so that everyone can access it.

Please feel free to look around at the designs I have already released! We are currently having a New Years Sale, shipping free! You can find these by clicking the “Sale” link at the top of the page.

Thank you so much for visiting my website. I am excited for you guys to embark on this journey with me!
