MAGIC + TECHNOLOGY

M
agical technology is surprisingly simple. All technology in the wizarding world (phones, computers, etc) is powered by magic-based electrical towers. Similar to the towers muggles are familiar with, they emit signals (or magical currents) 24/7 that devices use to turn on. Towers are used for wifi as well.

FUN FACT:
There are over 1,800 magical towers in the UK. 1,400 towers in France, and 2,130 towers in America.

There are several pros and cons to the towers. All electronics in the wizarding world are cordless and will never need charging. As long as the towers are functional they will keep your devices running.

However, if the towers malfunction, ALL electronic devices will cease to function.

THINGS TO REMEMBER:
1. Only devices made in the wizarding world will work with the towers.

2. The internet in the wizarding world is known as the Wiznet.

3. Wi-Fi in the wizarding world is known as Mi-Fi (Magical Internet for Frequent Interface).

4. Most companies such as Apple and Microsoft have secret divisions dedicated to manufacturing wizarding electronics.

BRIEF HISTORY:
The first magical tower prototype was created by Gregory Cerink. Gregory was an eccentric muggleborn wizard who carried his love for technology over to the wizarding world. Feeling completely miserable after he discovered his electronics would never function around magic he became obsessed with finding a solution.

Gregory, with the help of another muggleborn, discovered that solution after tinkering with a old muggle electrical tower. By infusing the tower with a magical core (similar to what enable brooms to fly) it was able to emit wave frequencies that could power electronics that were programmed to tap into the core.

After years of testing, Gregory introduced magical towers to the wizarding world on October 10, 2005.

By the year 2027, magical towers are commonly used by almost the entire wizarding populous. Muggle companies have secret branches that create magical versions of iphones, android phones, computers/laptops, and everything else in between.

At the age of 46 Gregory Cerink became president of Apple's magical division.
